Bates Studio

It’s midnight. Goodbye. Meet Bates Studio’s Project Lead, Hayley – our best creative eye and fitness fanatic, but this resident Cinderella has to be home before midnight. Obviously.

Describe Bates Studio in three words.

I’m going to have to say: Modern, Fun, Stylish. It’s our job to keep the workplace trendy yet productive.

What is your favourite part of your job?

My favourite part of my job is the creative side, I love to create modern, fun workspaces. It’s even better seeing the project finished and in situ knowing you created that environment.

If you weren’t in Project Lead, what would you do instead?

Unfortunately, we’re not blessed with the best weather here in the UK and I’m a huge sucker for the sun. In an ideal world I would do a job that involves hotter weather and sunbathing… I believe this would be called retirement.

Do you have any hidden talents?

Unfortunately, I wasn’t blessed with the voice of an angel or the rhythm of a dancer but if this counts, I have done my fair share of fitness competitions from functional fitness to bikini comps and I have done well with them.

If you could only have three apps on your phone, which ones would you pick?

Whatsapp, communication is key and I love a good natter.

Instagram, purely because I’m nosey and I love to visualise new ideas and see how people are doing.

Mail, boring I know but I find when I pick up my phone this is the first app I refresh. I like to keep on top of my work, and this means my work emails are on my phone. I’m also one of those people that doesn’t like the notification symbol on their apps. Probably the main reason my mail is the first app I go to.

Are you a morning person, or a night owl?

This is a tough one as I’d like to say both. If we’re talking fitness, you won’t catch me working out at night, only ever the morning. I’d like to say I’m a night owl in my night life but if I’m completely honest, I’m an old lady at heart that likes to be at home with a cup of tea before midnight (practically Cinderella) However, I do find if I get stuck into work in the evenings, I’m less distracted and very productive.
