Thanet Community Health Hub furniture fit out

Built to support care, collaboration and community

Our team worked with KCHT and the Thanet Community Health Hub to create a seamless, uniformed design to accommodate numerous NHS services, run by different organisations, all under one roof. On the ground floor, we furnished the waiting areas, consultation rooms, physiotherapy, and podiatry. For the children’s speech and therapy rooms.

The community nursing teams are situated on the first floor of the two-winged purpose-built site.  This is an open plan area with copious space and natural light. Bates Studio collaborated with the teams to fully understand the team’s way of working, needs, and objectives for this space. We wanted to create a space that would be both aesthetic and functional for their job roles.

Bates Studio installed 10 banks of back-to-back bench desking with dual screens and operator chairs. We identified the needs for private spaces within the open-plan offices to accommodate both large and individual meetings. As well as a large six – eight-person acoustic pod with AV, lighting and ventilation, we further included three single telephone pods and two four-person pods.

On the same floor, we designed and installed a breakout / café space to create a social space away from the working environment. The dedicated space includes circular café tables, high tables and high stools, perfect for socialising or taking a break.

Throughout Thanet Community Health Hub, Bates Studio focused on long-wearing and durable furniture that will stand the test of time. In doing so, we have created a space that will truly welcome the community in Thanet and the Community Hub teams.
