Snowfields SEN Academy

Working closely with Leigh Academy and Ash Contracting, Bates Studio designed the interior spaces to create a calm, supportive environment tailored to students’ needs. The completed facility includes purpose-designed teaching rooms, specialist areas for sensory and therapeutic support, a bright double-height dining and social space, and outdoor learning zones that promote wellbeing.

Bates Studio was initially appointed to develop design proposals for meeting rooms, a library, informal breakout spaces, the dining area and classrooms. Our Project Manager, Hayley Simpson, delivered bespoke solutions including soft seating, and custom shelving carefully incorporating soft and transitional zoning throughout the space. From the outset, our team developed a strong understanding of the Academy’s distinct brand, ensuring a cohesive and streamlined design process that reflected its identity.

As Leigh Academies undertook a full redesign of the school, our installation team worked collaboratively alongside contractors, maintaining flexibility to ensure all elements were delivered on schedule. By completion, Bates Studio had successfully transformed the library, classrooms and shared spaces, alongside remodelling the administration area to create clearly defined office environments.
